Bay selected for multi-million dollar projects
Newport News, Va., April 26, 2006 -- Bay Electric Co., Inc.,

a general and electrical contracting company based in Newport
News, announced today that the company had been awarded contracts
for several major multi-million dollar projects including work at
the world’s busiest airport, the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
Airport.
“It’s extremely rewarding to have our company selected as a contractor or
subcontractor for such major projects,” said Bay Electric’s CEO John F. Biagas.
“In just the past six months, Bay has been given the opportunity to work with
government agencies, several branches of the military and a number of major
corporations on quite a few projects in the one to three million dollar range.”
On the project for the Atlanta airport which is estimated at over $3 million,
Bay is partnering with M.C. DEAN, Inc. of Dulles, Va. In addition to this large
contract, Bay was prime contractor for a Phase 1 addition to the USDA Vegetable
Lab in Charleston, S.C. and recently began a similar Phase 2 addition at the
lab. Each of those projects is valued at over $2.9 million.
For the U.S. Air Force, Bay was the prime contractor to renovate the electrical
distribution system for a building at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia for
over $2.4 million. Bay is also the prime contractor for two major renovation
projects at the Naval Station at Norfolk, Va., a roofing project for over $1.5
million and an UPS electrical replacement project for over $1.3 million.
Bay has also been awarded million dollar plus contracts at the Defense Supply
Center Richmond in Richmond, Va.; at Fort Eustis in Virginia; at the Naval Air
Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va.; and at the Naval Amphibious Base in
Little Creek, Va.
