Bay selected for multi-million dollar projects
Newport News, Va., July 18, 2006 -- Bay Electric Co., Inc.,

a general and electrical contracting company based in Newport
News, announced today that the company had been awarded contracts
for several major multi-million dollar projects including a $4.6
million contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a $1.4
million dollar contract for a project at the U.S. Naval Academy.
"Having our company selected to work on such major projects is extremely
rewarding and definitely is a result of the hard work and dedication of the Bay
Electrical employees,” said Bay Electric’s CEO John F. Biagas.
The $4.5 million project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is for work on the
DSCR Conference Center Building in Richmond, Va. At the U.S. Naval Academy
in Annapolis, Bay will work on a Design-Build sustainment project for Rickover
Hall.
Other major government contracts that Bay has been granted recently include a
$1.3 million contract for cabling work for the U.S. Navy in Groton, Ct., and
$357,000 for converting an HVAC system for the U.S. Navy in Virginia Beach, Va.
On the commercial side, Bay has been contracted for work at several locations of
the First Tennessee Bank in Tennessee, at four schools in York County, Va., and
at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.
Bay, one of the fastest growing private companies in Virginia, has booked a
considerable amount of new business in the past six months. Earlier in the year,
the company was awarded several major contracts including $3 million for work at
the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport, $2.4 million for an electrical
distribution center at Langley Air Force Base and $2.9 million as prime
contractor for an addition to the USDA Vegetable Lab in Charleston, S.C.
