Roger Hamilton joins Bay Electric as company's new
Assistant Controller
Newport News, Va., January 12,
2006 – Bay Electric Co., Inc. (www.bayelectricco.com),
a general contracting and electrical service company based in
Newport News, announced today that J. Roger Hamilton, III, has
joined the company as its Assistant Controller.
Hamilton, a Certified Public Accountant, brings more than 8 years of experience
with accounting firms, to Bay Electric. In his new role at Bay, Hamilton assists
in the company’s financial and tax reporting requirements as well as provides
ongoing support to the accounting department staff, according to Bay’s Chief
Financial Officer Carolyn Luckadoo.
Prior to joining Bay, Hamilton worked as an accountant for LLH & Associates, a
program management and IT consulting services company in Hampton, Va., and was
an instructor for H&R Block in Newport News. He also served as Senior Accountant
for Witt Mares, a Newport News CPA consulting firm, and was a staff accountant
for the Newport News CPA firm, Malvin Riggins & Company.
Hamilton, who received his CPA certification in 1997, has a degree in accounting
from Christopher Newport University in Newport News. He also has an associates
degree in accounting from the National Education Center at San Bernardino,
Calif.
Active in the local accounting community, Hamilton previously served as
president of the Peninsula Chapter of Virginia Society of CPA’s, as an officer
for the Tidewater Chapter of Virginia Society of CPA’s, and as a member of the
Virginia Society of CPA’s Leadership Committee.
