Jerry Yarbrough joins Bay as company's new
Safety/Quality Assurance Manager
Newport News, Va., March 3,
2005 – Jerry M. Yarbrough,
who has more than 40 years experience in construction, practical
engineering, construction safety and quality control management,
has joined Bay Electric Company as the company’s new
Safety/Quality Assurance Manager. Bay Electric, Co., Inc., headquartered in
Newport News, Va., is general
contracting and electrical service company that’s listed as one of
Virginia’s fastest growing small businesses.
At Bay, Yarbrough directs the company’s safety and
quality assurance programs and also serves as a project manager, overseeing four
major construction projects in the Virginia area.
An expert in quality control management, Yarbrough
has successfully managed quality control programs for the Naval Facilities
Engineering Command’s Resident Officer’s In Charge of Construction (ROICC) at
the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth and the Sewells’ Point Naval Complex in
Norfolk, Virginia.
He has extensive training in safety and quality
management and holds training certificates from the Corps of Engineers in almost
every area of construction, including electrical, mechanical, concrete, roofing,
painting, HVAC and fire protection. Yarbrough also holds Master Plumbing, Master
HVAC and Master Gas Fitter’s licenses in Virginia.
Prior to joining Bay, he spent twenty years with NAVY
ROICC offices, most recently as Head Supervisory Engineering Technician for the
Sewells Point Naval Complex, where he provided engineering support services on
construction contracts between the U.S. Navy, their contractors and clients.
While there, he also administered a Construction Quality Management program on
all projects assigned to this office.
Before going to work for the Navy, he was employed
for 20 years as a project superintendent for E. K. Wilson and Sons
Plumbing/Heating/and AC in Norfolk, Va.
