Bay’s Experience with LEED Projects

Green is the color of choice these days for governments, companies, and individuals striving to construct sustainable buildings. By utilizing our resources more efficiently (such as energy, water, materials and land) we will not only save money, but we will contribute to protecting the environment. In many cases, LEED is becoming a government regulation and incentive in order to keep costs low, and to comply with the increased demand from informed and concerned citizens.

What is LEED?
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. This certification system for green buildings was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), an organization whose mission is to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work.

LEED ratings range from Certified to Platinum. Performance areas include sustainable sites; water efficiency; energy and atmosphere; materials and resources; and indoor environmental quality.
