Carolyn J. Luckadoo, Chief Financial Officer

Carolyn J. Luckadoo, CPA, who has more than 30 years experience in public and private accounting, is the Chief Financial Officer for Bay Electric Co., Inc..

In her role as CFO, she oversees all financial and accounting functions and manages the day-to-day office operations for this multi-million dollar company.

Carolyn joined Bay Electric in 2002, coming from Malvin, Riggins & Company, an accounting firm where she worked for nine years. She joined the firm as Tax Manager and soon became Shareholder, Director, and Partner-in-Charge of the computer network and tax return processing and review.

Before that, she was Controller for Custom, Ltd., of Williamsburg, Va. There she was responsible for the financial and accounting functions for this multi-million dollar ready-mix concrete company. In addition, she also supervised the staff and prepared the company’s annual audited financial statements.

For eight years, she was with Coopers & Lybrand in Newport News, first as a Senior Accountant and then as Tax Manager. In that role, she was responsible for a diverse client base, for recruiting, training and supervising the tax staff, and for forecasting and monitoring the tax department’s productivity.

She also worked as a staff accountant for Cherry, Bekaert & Holland in Hickory, N.C. Prior to that she was a staff accountant for William R. Barnes, CPA, in Elizabethtown, N. C.

Carolyn, a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Georgia Southern College, has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and certifications from the Virginia State Board of Accountancy and the North Carolina Board of CPA Examiners.  She is a member of the Virginia Society of CPA’s and the American Institute of CPA’s.

Carolyn is a longtime resident of Newport News.  Her daughter is a student at the University of Virginia.
