Bay was the prime contractor for construction of a 15,000 sq. ft. addition to the USDA Agricultural Research Service Headhouse and Vegetable Lab at the Clemson University Coastal Research & Education Center. This was Phase 2 of a $6 million project for the USDA.

Almost identical in scope to the 15,000 sq. ft. Headhouse built in Phase 1, this Phase 2 addition included:

  • Building growth chambers inside the Headhouse

  • Construction of one-story addition to exiting facility

  • Cold storage environmental chambers

  • Storage rooms mechanical room on mezzanines

  • Site work, pilings, slab on grade, steel frame, CMU

  • Pre-cast concrete lintels, metal studs

  • Painting, carpeting

  • Masonry and tile work

  • HVAC roof top units

  • Standing-seam metal roof, single-ply membrane room and all architectural finishes

  • Standing-seam metal roof

  • Single ply membrane roof and all architectural finishes

  • All utilities (storm, sewer, electrical, telephone, data, etc.)
